Cancelling running report!

We upgrade DBMS from V7.3.3 to V7.3.4. After that we found we couldn't cancel a running report in Report Designer IMMEDIATELY, while we used to. We would wait upto minutes to be able to work in Report Designer. Same thing happened in SQL*PLUS when we try to cancel a query. Is it a feature in V7.3.4, or we missed configuring parameters? Server on SCO Unix;
Client on Windows NT.
