I tried with Oracle-Tuning-Tool in OEM 2.x The Problem with this Tool is like with other Oracle-Tools that it is not intuitive and complex. Some Jobs initiated by this tool in the background could make the Instnace very busy.
The Advantage is the great functionality.
An easy way is
- toad from www.toadsoft.com or
- if you want to tune a a specific application then alter session set SQL_TRACE=TRUE + tkprof
