Using Set_block_property

I need help with the following: - Forms5

I want to set a block's default_where based on a value entered  in a control item. So, when a user click on a search button, the exec_query will use the value entered to filter.

For example, I might enter MARY in the control item. Mary is firstname. So, the query will pull all rows where MARY is in the firstname column.
