Dev2k for SCO - 256 colors only ?

Hi !
I am using Developer/2000 for SCO Unix v.1.3.2. Any X-window tools (f45desm, r25desm, g25desm and so on) could be started only if X server is configured with 256 colors (8-bit). If I use TrueColor (24-bit), X tools bomb out with message like "Internal window system initialisation error". Could anybody help me to start designers in 24-bit color mode ?
