Did you tried to start that stuff from a remote Display (i.e.
telnet to that machine where the software was installed;
setting DISPLAY-Variable to point to your local machine
and then tried to start Form Builder)?
If so, you have to give 'permission to the foreign X-Server to
display a window on your local machine' by typing
'xhost +REMOTEMACHINE'.
