Pro*C with gcc compiler

I'm trying to test sample1.pc that provided by Oracle. I have the gcc compiler installed on the machine, not Sun's C compiler. I noticed that the make files provided with the demo have paths and file names refering to Sun's C compiler hard coded inside of them. I had modified some configuration, but still didn't work. Does anyone know all variables which need to be adjusted? If so, please show me how. I appreciate it very much.
