I'm pretty new to all of this too but..........

Under the 'Triggers' section of the Form, create a WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger.

As far as the Active-X object your trying to reference, I don't know. sorry. I'm sure someone here will be able to help you though.
