Hi there

I am very new to Java environment. I wrote a small java program to connect to an Oracle database and to select some rows from some table

I connected using Oracle Thin client.

With the following statement, I connect to my oracle database on HP unix, I can connect to the database properly and I can get my results

Connection conn =
DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:_at_120.5.4.2:1521:orcl","scott", "tiger");

But when I connect to my personal oracle on my win95 pc, I use the following string, I get a run time error.

   Connection conn =

For connecting to personal oracle, we use 2: in ODBC. For ODBC it works fine. But how to connect using JDBC?

Any clues?

Thanks in advance
