As often happens, I fixed the problem myself, so I'll post the solution for those who follow.

The command EXEC IAF was superseded by EXEC TOOLS in later versions of Pro*C. This command is used to exchange data with Forms. I changed all occurrences to EXEC TOOLS and the compiler warnings disappeared. The rest of the statement can stay the same.
