It is always tempting to read the word FREE! The sixtyfour-thousand dollar question is: Why?

The issue is what the purpose of the tool is and the enviroment you want to use it in. There is absolutely no doubt that technically spoken the BOTH solv the INFORMATION OUT problem.

Seagate is a REPORTING tool. Discoverer is an ANALYSIS tool.

If THE LOOKS are more important than the PERFORMANCE I would consider Seagate (or maybe Oracle Reports) If PERFORMANCE is more important than THE LOOKS I would definately go for Discoverer.

I would recommend that you consider the needs and possibilities over price. And maybe choose both tools for different and focussed purposes!?
