The trouble we have had connecting to many Oracle products thru our Raptor firewalls is that Oracle does dynami port re-allocation. Ultimately we used a Network General sniffer to discover exactly how the traffic was transmitted. After we knew the approximate range of ports in question we were able to configure a rule in the firewall to account for the re-allocation. Hope this helps!
