There's a specific patch to address this, which has itself been superseded by the 4.0.7.1 patch which is downloadable from Metalink.
I've found that the patch allowed a system to run on NT4 SP4 when it had previously failed with the ORB problem.
However, starting / stopping the server works but crashes 'owsctl' afterwards.
By far the best plan is to avoid NT SP4 or 5, but if you can't, the patch will give you a solution good enough to develop on.
Does anyone know a solution to the owsctl crashes ? Oracle say it's a known issue, but perhaps someone clever has found a workaround....? Received on Fri Jun 25 1999 - 10:30:58 CEST
