Designer and Oracle 8i and Java

A few questions:
1.) Is anyone using Designer with Oracle 8i? The Designer compatability matrix lists 8.0.5 as the latest version that Designer is certified to work with, but I was wondering if anyone had tried it with 8.1.x. 2.) Does anyone know what the timeframe is to certify the Designer/Developer tools with 8i?
3.) Are there any plans announced to integrate JDeveloper into Designer to provide java code generation ?
