Developer 2.1 and the Novell OS

Hi!

I'm going to install a Devloper 2.1 application onto a Novell based machine. My application is UNIX and Windows compatible, and it reads / writes registry / environment variables.
I have very little knowledge about Novell. Does it use environment variables like UNIX or registry like windows. How can I read/write these entries on Novell from Developer?
