Hi, Gerrit-Jan!

Actually, all pre-7.3.4 versions are desupported asof 31/12/1999. In order to stop questions about Y2K compliancy on desuported versions Oracle now states that all of these versions are not Y2K compliant. This sure makes people want to upgrade, just what Oracle was aiming for.

Not an option, I assume? If not an issue, why not upgrade to 1.3.2?

Do you understand the meaning of 'certified' (as opposed to 'supported')? Certified means all regression tests have been executed against a particular version. Supported means these tests have not been executed in full (or not at all), but no problems are anticipated. Did you actually ask support whether 7.3.4 was 'not supported' (usually meaning severe bugs are known with that version)?

Did you try to make a backup of your application? That's sure to fail! Des2K 1.2 is a 7.1 product, and it comes with 7.1 tools and utils. Any use of these against later versions is likely to fail. Import/Export is an example known to me, but there are workarounds. If these are acceptable to you - fine, but remember: in Oracle's view, it is not certified!

Why don't you just stay with 7.2 and use it as a repository server only? As Designer itself does no date arithmatic towards the database, it's Y2K compliant.

Finally, to answer your question: I seem to recall that support in The Netherlands
run versions of Case and Des2k up to V1.2 against 7.3 or even 7.4. Ask them!
