I believe that it cannot be done.

Oracle 8 has a different format of the pseudo-cloumn ROWID. SQL*Forms version 3 cannot correctly handle these ROWIDs.

I have found that, running over SQL*Net with the runform30 client on a 7.1.4 system and the server running 8.0.5, I get errors with the messages:

 FRM-40501 ORACLE error -- unable to reserve record for update or delete.  ORA-01410: invalid ROWID

whenever I try to update a record which has a posted, but uncommitted, change.

I have concluded that Forms 3 has, at last, died.
