Look for a file TNSNAMES.ORA in your oracle_directory/network/admin, it's an ASCII file and you can read there the names of databases whereto you can connect in a network. As you are working locally , I guess there is no such thing in your installation, and the database you can connect to is simply "2" (just enter the figure without the quotes).
