Esc key modifier web forms

I've modified the web forms resource file, fmrweb.res, to use key mappings that include the "Meta" modifier (eg Esc-F10 for Clear Block). I presume that "Meta" should correspond to the escape key. When I run my forms using JInitiator on a PC it does not recognise the escape key in the key sequence.

Developer Server 2.1 on Sequent running Dynix/ptx 4.2.1
JInitiator 1.1.5.21.1 on Windows 95 PC
