Reading & writing binary file from Forms 4.5

I repost an unanswered question I found in this group since I am after exactly the same: (The subject was the same)

• Start of included part --- I'm using the TEXT_IO package in forms 4.5 or 5.0 to write binary files with the PUT function.

Since a binary file contains EOF and EOL markers (which are not markers but raw data), how can you read it back?

The only available function to read from a file is TEXT_IO.GET_LINE. How come there is nothing like a GET function?

Anyone have any suggestions?

If there is an user exit solution, can someone outline how to interface with the dll's?
