Collapsible columns in Oracle Reports

We are having a problem creating an Oracle report where the user selects from a parameter form which columns are to be displayed in the report.

We are having a problem creating an Oracle report where the user selects from a parameter form which columns are to be displayed in the report.
When creating a report that contains collapsible columns, the data in the columns that are displayed is irregularly aligned, not left-justified. If we pad the data field to correctly align, no columns will collapse. Has anyone else had this happen?
