Oracle8 Linux SQL*Net(urgent)

Dear Gurus,
In 'Oracle 8.0.5 for Linux', i can not connect to another database;
'sqlplus username/password_at_service_name',
answer:
"SQL*Plus: Release 8.0.5.0.0 - Production on Fri Apr 2 15:42:47 1999 (c) Copyright 1998 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved. ERROR:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied Enter user-name: "
The 'username/password' pair, 'tnsnames.ora' parameters is good... From another machine is working.
How can i identify, wat is happen, may be traceing the input/output of
'SQL*Net?
