Oracle 7.2 access via ODBC and Visual Basic 6

Can anyone give me pointers on how to complete this?
I have Oracle 7.2 and am trying to access it via Visual Basic 6 and OLEDB using ODBC and it is not at all happy - it wants 7.3 at least.
Do I need an earlier driver - ODBC - or will I have to upgrade the Database?
