Using a development tool that requires the Borland Database Engine is very risky business since the future of Borland is in doubt. One release of Oracle or SqlNet and you are .s.o.l. Bloat and performance degradation are also other problems associated with the BDE. Yet I can't think of any other developer tool that requires a database engine.
