  1. No Oracle scripts are supposed to be run by root (I hope you don't have an Oracle user named root). They should be run by sys, usually done by svrmgrl, then connect internal. Catrep.sql creates views used in the replication option.
  2. The big "O" (actually I think it's a zero, but I don't remember for sure) indicates old versions of executables which have been replaced during an upgrade. Why do you want to get them running?
  3. svrmgrm (as in server manager motif).
