Positioning data blocks horizontally in form from Des.

Hi all,
I am trying to generate a form from Design Editor. The form has data blocks which are laid out horizontaly in the form. I have tried to position the blocks using the X and Y positions but wasn't successful. I have also tried the generatot preferences but of no use... Could anyone tell me how to do this..
