It went from Oracle Web Server (you might still see the 'OWS' acronym every now and then) to Web Application Server, because it did more than just http traffic. Then from 3.x to 4.x it was renamed to Oracle Application Server, because now it IS an application server. Received on Tue Jan 26 1999 - 12:28:31 CET
