Why we need POST in Oracle form?

Hi:

[Quoted] I don't understand why we need POST command in Oracle form. Will the form lose the changes if we query data from a block and make UPDATE/INSERT/DELETE to tables? The operations of the form should be in the same session? All the changes to the tables should be still in rollback segment?
