Discoverer 3.0.8 and Synonyms..

When using Discoverer (version 3.0.8) to access a database, the user is able to see tables and views that it has access to. However, it does not see any tables which are referenced by Synonyms. For example, Discoverer can see table .xyz, but cannot see the synonym xyz which has been created to reference this table. Is this a known limitation and if so, will it be fixed.
