Greetings fellow developers
We are currently using Oracle Objects for OLE v.8. with VB6. It looks like mass overkill, seems oriented towards bound controls (which are really for beginning programmers), and I suspect it is an out of process server (which simply
has to be slow). I created a database class wrapper for the three or four functions that we actually need.

[Quoted] I am seeking information on several topics:

  1. Which would be faster ADO, RDO, or OOO? We are a marketing research company so our databases are HUGE. [Quoted]
  2. It would seem a fairly reasonable task to create a Pro *C DLL that could be called from VB which allowed us to do the basic EXEC SQL functions and go direct to SQL/Net. It would also seem that many other people have already contemplated this. If not is anyone interested in a joint venture?

[Quoted] Please reply to this newsgroup or lnmoose_at_htonline.com.

Thanks

Alan Robbins
