How to break a long lasting operation with oo4o?

Is it possible to let user to cancel a long lasting operation with using
oo4o and VB5?
If it is possible, what it will require our code?
Our database is 7.3.3.6.0, SQL*Net client is 2.3.3, oo4o is 2.3.
