There are hooks in place within Developer/2000 for other version control systems beside PVCS but they apparently have not been implemented. It appears that what is needed is a DLL which is called by the D2K module which interfaces with the version control API. The systems supported are PVCS, CLEARCASE, CCCHARVEST, SYNTOS, MKS, SOURCESAFE, and DIAMOND. Each of these has a differently named interface DLL which is required. There is also a CUSTOM setting which I believe allows you to add any DLL (which must still properly interface with the Oracle DLL named D2SCW32.DLL) to provide support for other version control systems.

Apparently the only of these that Oracle currently supports is the PVCS interface. It should not be difficult, given the availability of well-published APIs, to write the appropriate DLL to interface between D2SCW32.DLL and any of these systems, or even to provide an interface to an alternate version control like SCCS, RCS, or CVS. What I have not been able to find is the convention by which D2SCW32.DLL calls the interface DLL.

I personally am interested in using SourceSafe, RCS, or CVS as the version control with D2K (preferably RCS or CVS). I have not been able to find a provider for an interface DLL for SourceSafe (which would be named D2SCFW32.DLL). I would be willing to write a module which would interface with RCS or CVS but have not been able to find the API. I haven't investigated any of the other version control interfaces because I don't have those products available to me.

If anyone knows where any of these interface DLLs or the API to D2SCW32.DLL can be found, I'd be most appreciative, and I think there are probably other people out here that would be thankful as well.
