How to manage dev & prod with Designer/2000 ?

I've been working with the Oracle CASE product for years, but as a consultant, I've been doing developpement only projet by projet.
Now I'm at a customer that need to manage the production (delivered last spring) and new developpement (a new project and new phase of one sub-system delivered last spring).
The standard versioning control does not give the functionality requiered.
Any suggestion ?
