Excel OLE2 and Forms

I have Forms 4.5.x on win95. I am trying to get the ExcelOle demo app working. It fails whenever trying to call ole2.invoke_obj(d,'Cells',lst) in the EXCEL.PLL module. Some wierd ole error code 305500 is trapped. The same thing happens within Forms 5.0.
