Forms 4.5- Passing Variables Upon Exit...

[Quoted] Is there a way to pass a variable through a parameter list "back" through forms upon exit? I want to be able to update a form and have that field/data be updated in the parameter list upon exit to previous form. I could use a global variable, but only if I cannot find another route/method. Suggestions? Thank you!
