Block Source of Procedure - how to get working?

Does anyone have a quick example of a procedure that could be used as a block datasource?

Does anyone have a quick example of a procedure that could be used as a block datasource?
There seem to be NO examples on Oracle Metalink, Or Oracle Support, and the only messages from this group that I've found are questions only.
I'm beginning to wonder if it works at all.
