Oracle Order Entry

I am new to Oracle Order Entry. When I enters a model with optional items in Oracle Order Entry, after picking release, I found that these optional item order lines are not in the picking release lines. Only the model line is in the table of so_picking_lines_all. Can someone please tell me this is true for ordering a model with optional items? Or Should all of order lines be in the picking release lines ( i.e. the table of SO_PICKING_LINES_ALL)?
