ORA-12163: TNS: connect descriptor is too long

Hi, in trying to run jobs started from oracle enterprise manager I now get a few steps further. The output of my job now displays

Hi, in trying to run jobs started from oracle enterprise manager I now get a few steps further. The output of my job now displays
ERROR: ORA-12163: TNS:connect descriptor is too long
ERROR: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
OEM is on NT-3.51; the 7.3.4 database is running on HP-UX 10.20. I think the userid & passwords are now correctly configured. Why do I get this message ? Who can help me ? any tip/hint is very welcome !
