[Quoted] Okay Oracle professionals this is my story so far.....

Personal Oracle 8 with D2K v2.1 just didn't want to connect, Plus 8 connected
okay but developer just couldn't manage it.

I created a TAR (Technical Assistance Request) with Oracle support and after [Quoted] a while they gave me a solution....D2K uses SQL*Net v2 therefore you need all
your ora files in the <ORACLE_HOME>/network/admin directory.

Okay I tried this and my original 3121 error disappeared :) Unfortunately I got
[Quoted] another error, one just as infruiating!!

Well after trying loads of suggestions from the forms help group they gave up
and passed me over to the SQL*Net group.

Today the SQL*Net group gave me what I think is a good solution. They also said
[Quoted] that they had a few other things to try....sounds helpful.

Unfortunately I have wiped out Personal Oracle 8 in favour of Person Oracle 7.3.4 as
[Quoted] I need to be productive, what with impending deadlines etc. So I am unable to try there
[Quoted] suggestion, however it might be of benefit to everone here.

The solution:

Net 8 uses the bequeath adaptor (everyone knows this) SQL*Net 2 does not however use the bequeath! (I know weird isn't it, it's something to
do with Personal Oracle8). To get D2K working with Personal Oracle 8 you simply have
to start the listener!

Assuming you have copied the net 8 files into the <ORACLE_HOME>/network/admin
directory, simply get to dos and type lsnrctl80 start.

As I say I cannot try this for myself but it sounds hopeful, let me know if it works.
