Multiple PC's and PO7?

[Quoted] I've developed a PO7 application on a stand alone PC. The application is running at a remote site (about 125 miles away). Recently, the site installed a small LAN, three Win95 PC's sharing drives peer to peer. I've been given to understand, both by Oracle and readers of these newsgroups, this it is technically feasible to access the PO7 database from more than one PC. This assumes that a listener is running on the "server" and that the "client" PC's are properly configured relative to tnsnames and sql*net. I also understand that I would only be able to have one active connection at a time.

The main reason the users wish to connect from more than one PC is because of the physical distance between the work areas. Lack of concurrent use would not be a BIG problem. The users don't spend that much time in a session and could probably get by with staggering one session per day per work area. However, I expect them to fuss a little if more than one user can't have a session going at the same time. (I know I would.)

I also have access to the enterprise versions of Oracle 7.3 and Oracle 8 as well as PO8. Our DBA has told me that I would need to make at least one trip per month to this site just to administer an enterprise version of the database. So far, I've had NO administration-type problems with PO7 and the application's been running for five months. I have had to make several trips to the site, but they've all been application tweaks and my manager wants me to cut back to no more than two trips per year.

[Quoted] Here are my issues:

Do I subject my users to a sub-optimum environment (no concurrent users) or do I subject myself to an administrative nightmare (trying to be a DBA from 125 miles away)?

[Quoted] Would administering an enterprise version of the database really BE an administrative nightmare? So far the entire database is only 2000 records (.5 MG) and will grow by only several thousand records per year.

[Quoted] Should I explore PO8?

[Quoted] Opinions? Suggestions? Pearls of wisdom? Flames? (Uh, on second thought, no flames.)

Thanking you in advance,
