[Quoted] I am using Personal Oracle 7 and would like to change the default date format to dd-mm-yyyy. I have amended the INTIORCL.ORA initialization file in [Quoted] \orawin95\bin to include the following line;

nls_date_format = "dd-mm-yyyy"

This is accepted as i checked it with the show parameters option. However, [Quoted] in any applicationaccessing the database such as SQLPlus, the date is still [Quoted] shown as dd-mon-yy unless I issue the alter session command and change the [Quoted] nls_date_format again.

Does anyone have an idea as to what is happening and how it can be rectified? Thank you very much.
