A colleague of mine is attempting to open a Word 97 document within Forms 4.5.

The reason for this is that we produce letters from Forms using WordPerfect currently (via macros and mail merge) and now need to convert over to Word.

The syntax being used at the moment, after the DDE.INITIATE is:

DDD.EXECUTE(convid,'[open(""template.dot"")]'

where template.dot is the full path and filename specification for the required template. e.g. p:\ora_dev\orc.prd\data\offer.dot

However, Word is not interpreting this correctly, and tries to split up the path specification into a number of commands.

Can anyone help us with the correct syntax, or tell us what we are doing wrong?

Note that I will also post this in the appropriate Word newsgroup.

Thanks
Glen
