Dev 2000 Java-applet on Macintosh?

We're thinking about using Oracle's Application Server to deploy Developer 2000 forms.
Oracle claims that it does this using an 100% Pure Java applet, but I've heard that the
Macintosh JVM has problems with it. Anyone have any real experience?
