        Using standard SQL isn't a real pain...actually it's quite easy. When your used to SQL Server or Access DB handling dates can be a pain in the beginning but nothing all that hard. Using something like Jet makes access pretty simple though dealing with some of the "better" things can be a pain (by 'better', I mean things like stored procedures).

        Just got done with a sizable VB project using Oracle as the backend. Went almost without a hitch...
