As I was reading Steven Feuerstein's new Oracle Built-in Packages book, i can across a warning about doing DDL in the dynamic SQL world. He recommends that when doing the parse routine when doing DDL, the execute routine should also be called because oracle may not guarantee that behavior that the parse routine does perform an execute in the future. SO for those of you who have downloaded it(the drop column package) from my web site, i'll be making an update to put that in(even thought dropping columns will be part of oracle 8.1).
