CONFERENCE UPDATE: Designer/2000 Release 2.1 shows up in its full glory at Palm Springs! ODTUG continues its tradition of providing a complete discussion of Designer/2000's latest release with mini-lessons from Oracle Education, Ask the Experts and Ask Oracle panels, presentations by Oracle technical staff and users with battle scars, plus hands-on experience for attendees at Oracle Tools Theatre and Problem Solving by Appointment.

Oracle Education offers mini-lessons on new features for server design and generation, new features for forms design and generation, generating dynamic Web applications, and an introduction to object design and generation.

Oracle technical staff and users' presentations cover the full life span of Designer/2000 use. Three-tier architectures, increasing productivity with the Design Editor, moving towards 100% repository-driven generation of server code, and leveraging the Designer/2000 R2.0 server generator are all offered. The discussion of forms generation starts with changes and new features, and an introduction to Designer/2000 generators before discussing how to translate your ideas into a completely CASE generated form and tips for upgrading template forms and libraries for R2.0. Bigger bang for the buck can be studied during the discussion of reusable module components and new options are presented for integrating graphics into forms. Reverse engineered packages, procedures and functions for the PL/SQL minded are also discussed. Overall issues such as optimizing repository management and Designer/2000 APIs are discussed too plus a general discussion of Designer/2000's new features.
