Joe,
I would rather create a table and not a view. It would be much simpler to define all fields in a temporary table (you may give grants to selected group of people only) with unique RESP ID for each row, and then do the bunch of different updates of the table , calculating sugdate1, sugdate2, tis1 5 as a source from your database. I'm not an expert but this is the way I'd solve this.
