You can create very nice database front-ends for the mac using tools like omnis-7 or studio. Look at http://www.omnis.com for more info. The nicest part of it is that the app's are completely X-platform.

There is no need to stick with the oracle tools at all. As long as you can use SQL*net from the client there's no problem. (I don't like odbc).
