How to suppress old new in sqlplus when passing parameters?

Hi,
[Quoted] [Quoted] I am spooling the output of the sql to the file and I am passing parameters.
[Quoted] When I do that sqlplus displays:
[Quoted] old 5: '&&1'||'_'||translate(report_type,' &','--')||'_'|| new 5: 'Weekly'||'_'||translate(report_type,' &','--')||'_'||
and the output of the sql
[Quoted] how can I suppress it?
