The 64-bit option has nothing to do with 64-bit numbers. It has to do with the ability of the operating system to handle larger amounts of memory and to go beyond the 2 gig per file limit. This is why the DEC Alpha can have multiple gig SGAs. Oracle itself is the same as on any other platform as far as SQL standards.
