Koichi,
It looks a few things are mixed here !

SQL*ReportWriter V1.1
Uses <filename>.REX for source (not 100% ASCII !!!) and <filename>.REP for compiled output.

SQL*Report V1.1
Programs are not compiled.
It uses <filename>.RPT (100% ASCII) to run with.

IF YOU HAVE THE .RPT FILES THEN YOU DIDN'T LOOSE A SOURCE. For both situations there are options to migrate upto Reports 2.5

  1. SQL*ReportWriter V1.1 > Reports V2.5 Using Developer/2000 standard delivered documentation. Docs: Goto the following directory using either Windows95 or NT: Start > Programs > Oracle > Developer 2000 Doc for NT (W95) and look for 'Reports Migration Manual' (130 pages) Note: SQL*Forms V3.0 migration info can be found in 'Forms Reference Manual' appendix A.
  2. Using Designer/2000 for both .RPT and .REX migration to Reports V2.5 How: Start Designer/2000 Start Repository Object Navigator (RON). From the 'Utilities' menu select 'Reverse Engineer Report...'. You can migrate from a file or from database. Have a close look at the available options !!!

Stop getting to sweaty....Good Luck,
